Biography
Dr. Keyachtta C. Hawkins is a native of the small town of Henderson, North Carolina. She earned her bachelor’s degree from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and her Doctorate of Dental Surgery from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Adams School of Dentistry, making her a proud double Tar Heel.
Dr. Hawkins completed a one-year Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) residency at Grady Health System in Atlanta, Georgia, where she spent half of her time treating patients living with HIV/AIDS and the other half completing complex restorative cases.
She has demonstrated exceptional leadership and a strong commitment to service both nationally and internationally. Dr. Hawkins was awarded the Schweitzer Fellowship for promoting positive change within her community and has traveled to The Gambia and Malawi in Africa to provide free dental care to underserved populations. In recognition of her dedication and hard work, she has received several awards, including the Dental Trade Alliance Foundation Community Service Scholarship and the ADA Foundation E. Bud Tarrson Dental Award.
Dr. Hawkins is committed to providing excellent, comprehensive dental care and empowering her patients through education about their oral health. She strives to create a comfortable and unique patient experience while delivering high-quality dentistry.
Outside of the office, Dr. Hawkins enjoys traveling, trying new foods, and spending time with her husband, two children, and her fur baby. She currently serves on The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Adams School of Dentistry Admissions Committee and is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated.
